Class of 1999

Rashid Irani graduated in 1999 with a concentration in Finance and International Business. And now works for Monsanto in St. Louis. His undergraduate degree is from St. Xavier's College in Bombay with a major in Economics.

He has worked for 3 years in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for Dubai Labour Supply Company (DULSCO) as a procurement officer. His achievements include supplier consolidation and establishing best business practices in procurement process.

His interests include sports, reading, movies and cooking.

 

Mohammed Riad born in Dhaka, Bangladesh graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Science in Business, and a Minor in International Studies. His current concentration at Olin is in Finance and Investments (if one even exists). Mo interned at Ralston Purina Treasury Group over the summer during which time he developed spreadsheet models for Corporate

Letters of Credit cash flow payments, assembled comprehensive Banking Relationship Access module, and created procedural handbook for daily short-term corporate funding methodologies. Although this sounds impressive, most MBA students could have done it!!

Prior to WU, he worked in retail branch management for Legg-Mason Wood Walker, Inc. in New York City/Washington, DC. Upon graduation, Mo will be joining Fiduciary Asset Management Co., a private institutional asset management firm, in Clayton, MO as a Portfolio Manager. He worked part-time for entire 2-year program while at school as a research assistant.

Mo is an officer of the MBA Investment Club and his outside interests- golfing, basketball, tennis, reading, travel, and fine cigars!

 

 

Saurabh Sethgraduated in May 1999 and now works for Citigroup's Worldwide Securities Services as a Management Associate in New York. His concentration while at Olin was Finance and Strategy. His undergraduate degree is in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) from Bridgewater College, Virginia.

His summer internship was with Monsanto Company's Corporate Strategy Development Group. His primary project was assisting the Specialty Crops Group through a portfolio prioritization

process i.e. the use of decision analysis and real options for making resource allocation decisions. His interests lie in finance and strategy. Prior to coming to Olin, Saurabh worked for Mashreq Bank in India and played a key role in the establishment of their retail banking operations for India. He is an avid movie buff and enjoys adventure sports, travel and good cooking/eating.

  

Kris Sunkara graduated in May 2000 with a concentrations in Finance and Healthcare. Previously, he attained a doctorate of medicine from the University of Missouri and his Bachelor of Arts in History at St. Louis University.

Kris works in healthcare consulting division at Ernst & Young LLP. in the Chicago office.

Kris' active interests include travelling, reading and playing team sports (e.g. football, basketball, volleyball and baseball). He also participates in several Indian culture organizations (TANA), helped established both the Olin Indian Club and MBA Investment Club.

 

Niaz Syed graduated in May 1999. His concentrations while at Olin was Operations and Finance. His undergraduate degree is in Civil Engineering from University of Madras, Madras, India.

His summer internship was with Trans World Airlines in their Reservations Department. His project was to understand the business processes associated with inbound call centers and undertake internal/external benchmarking of call center activities.

His interests outside school are team sports, music (classical, heavy metal) and travelling.

 

 

Amit Trehan graduated in May 2000. Previously, he attained a Master of Science in Textile Technology from University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, Massachusetts and a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering from Technological Institute of Textiles, India. 9, Amit now works for PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP, Management Consulting Practice in Chicago, IL.

Prior to joining the business school, Amit worked with a textile manufacturer of technologically advanced high-end consumer line apparel fabrics based in Massachusetts. He worked with them for three-and-a-half years in Research and Development.

Amit enjoys running, listening to music and traveling. He is very fond of hiking and trekking.

 

 

Samit Vartak graduated in May 1999, his concentration while at Olin was Finance and Strategy. Now Samit works for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as a Management Consultant in Chicago. His undergraduate degree is in Civil Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai, India

Prior to coming to Olin, Samit worked for Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. in India. His professional interests lie in business and he aspires of running one of his own someday in the future.

Samit's active interests include any kind of sports, Indian music.
